Community Benefits

Parkline will offer numerous intrinsic benefits for present and future Menlo Park residents, workers and visitors. The reimagined SRI International campus will open 62+ acres for the first time in a generation and provide amenities beneficial to the entire community.

Parkline will establish new bicycle and pedestrian pathways to improve connectivity and safety, including safer routes for students. Traffic enhancements will include upgrades on Ravenswood and Middlefield, a new traffic signal at Seminary Drive, and other improvements recommended by the City’s traffic consultant.

Parkline will also significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance sustainability in line with the City’s climate goals. The existing cogeneration power plant, one of the City’s largest GHG emitters, will be decommissioned and all new buildings will adopt sustainable all-electric designs, cutting emissions equivalent to the annual electricity use of 4,782 homes or 61,974,977 miles driven by a gasoline-powered car.

Lastly, Parkline will retain a significant share of the site’s mature scenic trees, providing a lush treescape and native landscape environment that will be publicly accessible with new connections throughout the site to the surrounding community.
